June 17,2008 Kutztown Boro Council Mtg.Review

The minutes of the June 17, 2008 were just published on the Borough website and present at the meeting were 17 Borough Officials, 1 University Official, 3 Boy Scouts and 1 borough resident.

No one addressed the Council and there were 26 unanimous votes with no discussions, with 4 items in the consent agenda. Many new employees were hired and some contracts awarded. The new Borough Manager\Treasurer was appointed and sworn in.

The meeting was called to order at 7:30 pm and was adjourned at 7:55 pm. 26 unanimous votes in 25 minutes is less than 1 minute per vote. How can Council members and the Mayor know any of the details of the items that were voted on?

This is a disgrace and an embarrassment for the Borough and points out that the only parties that can embarrass the Borough are the elected officials, the 6 Borough Council members and the Mayor.

You really are nuts!. It is obvious that you do not take the time to read the comments to your continued bullshit.

The items were all discussed at the committee meetings you idiot. The committee makes the recommendation to Council. Council is given the meeting minutes, the discussions, and THE RECOMMENDATION by the committee. Most committees have two or three Council people assigned to the committee. Some take the time to attend committee meetings they are not involved in so they can understand the issue.

YOU NEVER TOOK THE TIME TO UNDERSTAND THE SYSTEM. NEVER ATTENDED THE MEETINGS OR ATTEMPTED TO LEARN THE PROCESS.

WHAT PART OF THIS DON'T YOU UNDERSTAND.

Council finalizes the decisions of the comittees. Imagine how long Council meetings would be if every committee conducted its business at the Council Meetings!

Committee meetings last hours and sometimes span multiple meetings.

The business of the entire Borough cannot possibly be discussed in one evening. Imagine the decisions made after sitting for 4-5 hours and still conducting business!

Only a fool would suggest taking the business away from the committees and hearing the issues at a once a month Council Meeting.

Get a Life.

The Marino Report is a again trying to create problems.

The Borough works in committees, made up of Council Members. Some committees also include the Public.

The meetings are openly advertised for the Public to attend. There is a schedule posted at the front of Borough Hall, Placed in the Newspaper, and advertised on the Borough's website and HU TV 2.

Committees.

Planning Commission
Community Development
Public Safety
Public Works
Finance, Electric, Telecom
Personnel
Appeals Board
Police Pension

These committees meet once a month and more if necessary.

At the Council Meeting the items discussed and requiring action are reported to the entire Council. Prior to the Council meeting Council Members are provided with the Agendas from the meetings and the minutes from the meetings.

The committees are made up two to three Council Members.

Weekly there is some sort of meeting. Some meetings have business that may take 1/2 hour. Other meetings may last 3- 4 hours depending on the issues and business at hand.

Can you imagine all these committees trying to handle their business at a single Council Meeting once per month?

I don't understand the claims by The Marino Report and the issues about approving items the committees have brought forward.

How many meetings Mr. Marino have you attended this year to ask your questions or challenge the issues the committees are dealing with?

As the former ousted Mayor, you NEVER attended a single committee meeting.

People reading this blog realize this guy is an anarchist and has grievances with the Borough and his attempt is nothing more than anger the citizens of Kutztown with his false and inaccurate statements
