The TRUTH stands tall. It can stand tall on its own because it never changes. A LIE can not stand on its own because it is constantly changing and that is why Mr. David B. Remaley, the Vice Chairman of the Zoning Hearing Board of Kutztown, and his anonymous associates constantly keep changing the subject. The purpose of this website is to have the Borough open all its financial books and records to the public according to the law and have an internal audit. I have stated in the past and I repeat I will stop asking questions of the Borough and will shut down this website when the Borough opens all its books and records to the public.
What does my short bio and my 4 years as Mayor have to do with the Borough falsifying the Budget, publishing fraudulent reports and not publishing the finances of the Borough? None of the unsigned comments to my blog contain one fact or figure from a Borough document that refutes what I say and not one Borough Official has ever challenged my facts and figures, therefore I know my facts and figures are correct.

To the readers following this blog. Mr. Marino fails to "recognize" any answer provided to him. Point being, all records are available to the public that are allowed by law to be available. All one has to do is make a request for any record not on the Boroughs website. Very simple process.
Where Mr.Marino has failed, others have succeeded.
Dear Nancy: In your August 8th posting you state that you have checked phone books and people finders etc., to find out who the anonymous comments are coming from. Why? Are you paranoid? Do you sleep with one eye open at night? Are you afraid to walk the streets when it`s dark? Are you constantly looking for mysterious shadows? If the answer to the above is not yes, it should be. can any of you council members or friends thereof, who post comments here continuously (and in doing so with such mean-spiritedness, really hurt your cause i might add)
please tell us townies what the salaries of the mayor and the council members are?
that information is ominously left blank in the budget PDF.

Call the Finance Director, I am sure he can give you the exact amounts they are paid. It is in the Budget under, Salaries and wages Government Officials, and it appears on the Borough website under Council Minutes June 2001.
For the number of hours put in, it amounts to less than $2 per hour. It is a thankless job for any town resident. If you want to be beat on, and you are looking to lose friends, run for local office. I am aware of this because of an acquaintance that was a Council member for Quakertown. It is one of the reasons people will not run for office or continue to stay in office. Night meetings, phone calls at home all hours, home visits, NO THANKS!.
Borough Council and the Mayor are not full time employees of the Borough, no bene's etc. They are "sub-contractors" and receive a 1099 at the end of the year. Most hold full time jobs in the private sector, or they are retired.
I did not call but I believe the Mayor is paid a a salary of $3,500 per year ?? Not sure, it is in the Borough Ordinance. I think the Council Members are paid $3300 per year and Council President s $3500.
Besides council meetings 12 scheduled per year and committee meetings 12 scheduled per year, some are members of multiple committees as well. Most meetings are held after hours, some during the day but most are off-hours, There is mail every day for Council members to pickup and review, including the Mayor. There also are special meetings regarding cooperative plans with Maxatawny Township.
The answers are a phone call away. 610.683.6131 ask for the Borough Manager, The Human Resources Director or Finance Director. Check it out for yourself. You can also submit via the open records process for this information if you prefer to have it in writing. It is in the 2001 Council Minutes located on the website.

Dear Nancy Marino: Now you are complaining to council about Mr. Remaly about libel statements he made against you. You are a real crybaby. Is this what happens to people that sign their names to their comments? The ones that do not sign, you call gutless. You really like having it both ways. It is my understanding that once you start a blog, you leave yourself wide open to any kind of comments, even the ones that tell you to go f... yourself. Am i wrong?
