Thank you Reading Eagle for printing my Letter to the Editor on Friday the 13th. I stated that the Borough has literally chased all the families out of town. For example there are about 200 university students and about 20 residents living in the 400 block of West Main Street. There is not one child in the Kutztown Area School District living in the 400 block of West Main Street.
I am also very happy that my message has reached the public that Hometown Utilicom loses about $1 million a year and that Borough residents pay double the electric rate that residents of the surrounding area pay.
Rather than comment on my website residents should comment to Mayor Green and Borough Council Members. Ask them if my statements are true and ask them to respond to this post.
It is common knowledge that the Borough is strapped for funds and is funneling funds from all Borough Departments into Hometown Utilicom.
Call or write your Elected Officials and demand they shut down Hometown Utilicom or produce Borough Records and Documents that show HU is a viable venture. I would like to remind the Mayor, the Borough Council, the Borough Manager\Treasurer Khalife, the Borough Solicitors, the so called independent Auditors and Frank Caruso the head of HU that the Borough has NEVER published a financial report on HU.

Once again Marino, your idiotic nonsense goes beyond explanation. The Reading Eagle did nothing for you except show your ignorance.
How can the Borough be broke as you say and a sentence later you state the Borough moves funds from departments.
You should reread before you post because you contradict yourself with each posting.
Hometown Utilicom is helping this community make-it. No other community has choice and no other community is saving $60,000 a month and no other community is proactive in reducing in-home expense which is needed today.
Just what this community needs, small children living near YOU!

Oh Lordy! Marino has been published in the Letters to the Editor, wow what an accomplishment, maybe a possible Pulitzer Prize is on the horizon.
That is no accomplishment Marino. News Papers struggling to survive like the Eagle need sensationalism to survive, same as you.
Do you know how many readers the Eagle has lost in the past year? Write to the Editor and ask, I doubt they will tell you but you may get published again.
As far as the information about families moving out, you fail to mention the new families moving in. Typical Marino always half the story.
Write something with some substance and something that you can prove.
Yes, students have moved out leaving the slum-land apartments in Kutztown like yours to have a better style of life at APEX village, Why over pay for conditions that are falling down when you can move into a nice, new, private apartment style home. Face the truth Marino, you had to lower your rent and you are pissed off. Sorry you can't take advantage of students anymore, now you have to market your room without parking.
I see you fail to mention the other responses challenging you about housing conditions in Kutztown. If you can't take the heat Marino your blog is useless.
To Mr Paul David : Stop giving out incorrect information I have a book for you "computers 101 - how to become computer literate".

To Mayor Sandy Greene Kutztown :
Your police department recently hired a new policeman and a new chief. How did you get this through the budget during a time of cut-backs? Your department is approaching the two million dollar mark which is funded by the Utility Departments. Other Police Departments are laying off and you hire? What is this about?
Your Police Department :
Does not contribute to Health Care.
Has a 5% pay increase for each officer for the next five years.
Has now hired a new Officer and this requires a car.
Has now hired a new Police Chief.
The Borough contribution toward the Police Pension is higher than the Borough employee contributions.
You have not held to your campaign promise to cut police costs, instead you hve increased them by 33%.
How is this possible? Why are you not cutting back on this department?
Two million dollars for a community of 5000? this is absurd compared to other similar communities.
I also heard the moral and attitude of the Police Department members is nearing the "mutiny" state.
We have experienced one absent minded Mayor and now your recent decisions and moral problems is elevating you to a substandard Mayor, C- at best.
Kutztown Borough should consider reviewing the cost of this Police Department and seriously consider regionalization. Two million dollars for a sub-par department with no leadership is a waste of this communities money. The Borough should also consider creating a committee to run the Police Department instead of these fly-by-night Mayors that keep getting elected. The department should be held accountable and a serious look at Police “freebie” benefits such as no Health Care contribution needs to be rescinded and they need to be required to pay their fare share. What happened to the Mayor that promised to cut the cost of the Police Department?
I am too old to run for Mayor, somebody please with some businees background and leadership, please please please run for the Office of Mayor.
Mr Marino, I am so disappointed in you. the next time I see you I will be sure to introduce myself and give you a piece of my mind. You failed to show at tonights Council Meeting. You promised and went back on your word.

Hey Mary Alice: I waited for you at council meeting last night. Of course as expected, you were once again a no-show. This to me shows a tremendous amount of cowardice on your part, typical behavior for you, as you have been a run away all of your miserable life. You ran away from your wife and children, so i guess that running away from accepting any face to face confrontations is within your style and is to be expected. Go back to wherever the hell you came from and just leave all of us Kutztonians in peace.
