Now that I have your undivided attention I would like you all to know that the Borough of Kutztown does not have one penny in reserve. If the electric department loses a transformer where will the Borough Council find $500,000 to replace it. The Borough just raised the electricity rate for funds for recreation.
According to the Borough Budget the Borough spends $4,200 per resident and The City of Reading, a city ACCEPTED by the Commonwealth as a DISTRESSED city, only spends $750 per resident. Kutztown isn’t distressed because we own an electric department and residents can not shop for lower electric rates and the Borough raises Real Estate Taxes and utility rates regularly.
Yes our Borough Officials illegally transfers funds within the Borough to pay for the $1 million a year that Hometown Utilicom loses.
Yes our Borough Officials falsify the Budget and the Borough Solicitors and the Borough Auditors are aware of it.
It would be nice if I had some feedback on these facts instead of questioning me through no names. The above facts are very clear and simple.
And by the way the borough will raise the electric rate again when the caps come off. Thanks again. Sincerely Jerry

be raising rates after the caps come off. Our rates are HIGH enough NOW. The caps do NOT apply to power purchased under the current contract. People will be moving out of this town like they moved out in Reading to the suburbs. A lot of homwowners moved out long ago and absentee landlords who rent to students took over. More of this will follow for sure. No quality of life left in this town anymore.
Bunk, nothing but bunk again. Scare tactics, false statements, pure bullshit.
Here you are again Marino, comparing Kutztown to Reading. Not even close.
The rate caps will push PPL and MET ED above Kutztown and the worst for these customers is yet to come, the initial increase is only the beginning to five years worth of losses these companies claim to have.
Your latest post Marino, misspelled words, poor grammar, reads like you have had one to many.
People are not taking you serious, you can see this from the responses. The fun in all of this, watching you squirm!
Hey Jerry, talk on main street, Hometown Utilicom is opening an Office on Main Street and they authorized the hiring of two technicians! I thought you said they are losing one million dollars every year? How is this possible and they can move to main street and hire people.
what Gives!!!!!!!
J erry M arino ... Now i get it. Spelled backwards is M umbo J umbo
Anytime the Borough needs money the powers that be at Borough Hall raise our rates and BORROW, that is why the Borough Debt is $14 million. The Borough just last year borrowed $1.3 million to finance Hometown Utilicom which I repeat loses $1 million a year.
Watch the vulgarity.
Thanks for watching. Jerry Notice I always sign my name
